On Friday the Thirteenth Doomtree will play the least- scary show possible when we help celebrate the Electric Fetus’ 40th anniversary at First Ave. 40 years in the independent record retailing business is a serious accomplishment, especially considering that 40 years ago popular music consisted almost entirely of a guy with an accordian hawking cure-all tonics. They’ve adapted with the times, though, and are stronger today than ever. Kudos.

It’s kind of a weird line-up, too, made up of a cross section of the Twin Cities’ music history. Bring your dad. He’ll love it. Hell, he probably used to hit up the Fetus for incense and beaded curtains himself.
