October 26th at First Ave!!! There will be a special fan pre-sale available this Thursday (9/6, 12pm-10pm CDT, password: “bumper”) right HERE via eTix. Then all tickets will be on sale to the public this Friday the 7th via eTix, The Depot Tavern, and Fifth Element. This show is gonna be NUTZ!!!! Speaking of shows, this Saturday’s Summit Backyard Bash is the last chance to see the whole crew perform together until the annual Doomtree Blowout this December. Click the image below for more details and ticket links. We go on a little after 4:00pm and there are a ton of great bands playing all day long, so make sure to show up early.
Dessa leaves for a quick 4 day tour with Saul Williams next week, where she’ll be performing an opening set spoken word monologue as opposed to the usual musical numbers. Definitely worth checking out it you’re anywhere near the Midwest (Ann Arbor, Chicago, Madison). And it was just announced today that she’ll be opening for him in Minneapolis at the Triple Rock on 9/14. You can find tickets and more details for the whole string of shows right HERE.
OK, enough about shows. I’m gonna leave you with a few glorious Bonus Jams off of what has already become my album of the year, hands down: Positive Force by Jersey’s own Delicate Steve. This record dropped last Tuesday and it is the only thing I’ve listened to since. Super feel good instrumental music with crushing (yet very tasteful) guitar solos EVERYWHERE!!!! So incredibly good, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Also, for the record, Delicate Steve is the greatest band name I’ve heard in well over a decade. Check out a couple tracks for yourself below. It will make you want to pick up a guitar immediately.
Oh man, Positive Force is right! Everyday for the last week I’ve taken Penny and Della for a walk, bumped this record nonstop, and smiled uncontrollably like a big dumb idiot. Here’s the proof.
