Welcome back to another round of Tuesdays With Lazerbeak! I’m posted up in this LA heatwave currently, so this post might be a little quicker than usual in order for me to make it to an air-conditioned movie theater to watch Finding Dory and chill out. Let’s start things out with a big update on the Cecil Otter Dear Echo Vinyl Pre-Order. Things are rolling along nicely and we just got word that we should have everything back from the plant by the end of June. All pre-orders placed by the end of this month will be shipped out in the first week of July! Here’s a quick refresher on the crazy limited Dear Echo Deluxe Pre-Order which you can still grab from the Webstore right HERE.
Not only will you receive the limited-edition gatefold and white vinyl version, you’ll also be getting an extremely rare screenprinted four-pack poster bundle with artwork created by Cecil during the making of Dear Echo. All four 18″ x 24″ screenprints come signed and numbered by Cecil himself and are limited to a run of only 200. We just got everything back from the shop this week and these bad boys turned out INCREDIBLE. Insane shouts to Burlesque of North America, the best printers in the biz, for knocking these out and making them look insanely cool. Check the prints out below and grab your limited Deluxe Pre-Order right HERE. And don’t forget to check out the Burlesque store as well for tons more Doomtree-related prints right HERE.
Man, so cool. If you’re balling on a budget and the Deluxe Pre-Order is a bit rich for your blood, we’ve also get the Standard Pre-Order which still features the limited gatefold white vinyl version, along with an instant digital download of the entire EP. Check that out right HERE. Again, all deluxe and standard pre-orders placed by the end of the month will be shipped out in the first week of July.
Now for some show news. The whole crew had a total blast in LA at the Rhythm & Rhyme Fest last weekend. I didn’t have time to snap a pic from stage, but here’s an idea of the chaos that ensued courtesy of @tonybanhkenobi. This was definitely a fun one.
There are a ton of new crew and solo shows that were just announced over the last week, so let’s jump into the Doomtree Summer Show Rundown real quick to get caught up. This coming weekend the whole gang will be meeting up in Rothbury, Michigan for the extremely sold-out Electric Forest gathering. I’ve been hearing so much cool stuff about this festival for forever now. Can’t wait to check it all out. More info right HERE.
For those of you back in the Twin Cities we just announced a huge outdoor full-crew show on July 10th at Sociable Cider Werks in NE Minneapolis….and it is COMPLETELY FREE AND ALL AGES!!! All you have to do is print out a ticket from the Sociable Cider site and bring it to the gate. Grab yours right HERE. This one is gonna be insane.
Then in September we’ll be closing out the summer with a big crew show at Middle Waves in Fort Wayne, IN alongside greats like The Flaming Lips and Best Coast. Check out all the sweet deetz and ticket info right HERE.
Dessa’s got a handful of newly announced Midwest shows this summer. She’ll be kicking things off in Wayzata, MN on July 7th opening for Cold War Kids at Cities 97’s annual Live at the Lake series. This show is totally FREE. Grab details right HERE.
On July 8th Dessa will head to Chicago for Square Roots fest. Crazy lineup for this one (um, CRACKER?!). Grab your tickets right HERE.
And on September 3rd Dessa will be in Duluth, MN for the second annual Super Big Block Party alongside Grieves, Low, and Caroline Smith. Grab all the details and more lineup info right HERE.
P.O.S just announced two big shows in Canada as part of Mule Fest. He’ll be hitting Edmonton on July 29th and Calgary on July 30th. You can check out all the details and ticket info for the fest right HERE.
He’ll also be playing the Music Tastes Good Festival out in Long Beach, CA on September 24th alongside a ton of ridiculous bands. Check out all the details right HERE.
And last but not least, I’ll be playing a super rare show with Mixed Blood Majority at Loring Park in Minneapolis on August 16th as part of the Walker Art Center’s Music and Movies in the Park series and we’re getting paired up with an epic showing of WAYNE’S WORLD!!! It is now my life’s goal to convince Alexei and Joe to dress up as Wayne and Garth for this special event. Wish me luck and pray this doesn’t break up the band. More details right HERE.
OK! Now for a big time round of Bonus Jams. Our good friends Speedy Ortiz just released their brand new Foiled Again EP and I’m super honored to have landed a remix of “Puffer” on there. Lizzo hopped on for a great guest verse as well. Check it all out below.

ZULUZULUU just dropped what is more than likely going to be my favorite album of the year (which is seriously saying something around these parts). I truly can’t say enough good things about this What’s The Price? album. Checkout their single “Fades” below and then go immediately to their Bandcamp page to pick up the whole album HERE.

My dude Jarell Perry just dropped an excellent cover of the classic R&B jam “Love You Down” with his friend Julia Lewis. Check it out below.

Ness Nite just dropped a sweet new vizual for her “Yes” single with Nick Jordan. So stoked about all the stuff these guys have both been dropping recently. Definitely keep an eye on them.

J. PLAZA just dropped a monster heater on Soundcloud that Sims put me up on. Bars for days. Excited to hear more from this dude.

And finally, I gotta close things out with the new crew single from Doomtree. We dropped this bad boy last week and have been having a blast playing at all the festivals as of late. Huge shouts to everyone for passing it along online and sharing it out there. I’m really happy with how this one came out. Blast “Spill Me Up” below and make sure to send it to a friend/enemy/loved one/significant other/sidepiece/etc if you get a second this week.

I just spent a glorious week up in northern Minnesota with my Party of Five fam. There were a total of seven kids and six adults so we didn’t get a ton of pics due to the fear of losing a child in the wilderness. Got a few good ones though. Here’s Crab Man Cam and Laid Back Lou rolling around in their cool cedar room. Note the action shot of Cam in mid-freakout mode.
Our annual cabin trip means my annual pic of Lou on a boat rocking his life vest and holding an empty can of beer. This year we caught him with the one and only king of beers (no kings).
Here’s a shot of last year’s legendary throwback Miller Lite pose. Rough day at the office.
Such a great week of awesome family bonding and hangs. Here’s a pic of the drive home. I don’t recall P and Lou ever holding hands before. We’re building memories to last a lifetime over here! Mission accomplished.
OK, I’m off to the ocean to cool off. I hope you all have a truly wonderful week. Still reeling from that crazy Cavs comeback and the fact that there won’t be any cool sports to watch until Fall. Dah well. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you at Electric Forest this week. If not, next Tuesday for sure!
