Welcome back to Tuesdays With Lazerbeak. It is officially the first day of October AND the first Tuesday of October at the SAME DAMN TIME, which means it’s time once again for a new episode of the Tuesdays With Lazerbeak podcast! This officially marks double digits for our little podcast startup, and Episode 10 is jam packed with #CONTENT from our second-ever live taping at the Parkway Theater. Extremely honored to welcome our main guest Greg Grease, a staple of the Twin Cities music community for close to two decades, and key member of my favorite Minnesota group astralblak. We cover his musical history, coming up in Atlanta, and our strange shared connection to 90s Christian pop-punk. You really can’t make this stuff up. Here’s a shot of Jeyca, Greg, and I after the podcast taping to prove that it really happened.
These live events have given us enough time to bring on a second guest, and we’ve been focusing said time on highlighting various wellness practices and social activism. This month we had the pleasure of hosting Megan Rae and Christin Crabtree from the Domestic Abuse Project, a wonderful organization in the Twin Cities committed to raising awareness of domestic abuse, assisting victims of abuse, and standing with survivors. Check out the whole entire episode below or click right HERE to listen on your favorite podcast streaming service, and please pass it along to a friend or give it a rating to help us get the word out. ENJOY!
We’re a mere five weeks away from the big Dessa and the Minnesota Orchestra collaborative album Sound the Bells: Live at Orchestra Hall and things are heating up. We’re down to only 50 copies of this Collectors Edition Pre-Order, so if you’ve had the inkling to pick this bad boy up with all the special limited-edition BELLS and whistles (pun v much intended), now is the time. Check out the full spread below and grab your copy today right HERE. One more bonus: Anybody that pre-orders at any tier is automatically entered into a weekly drawing to win a signed Sound the Bells test pressing. This week’s winner is Kevin Hogan of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Congrats, Kevin!
Big shouts to everyone that has been rocking with the new Shredders album Great Hits. We’re continuing to rollout this Great Hits Pre-Fixe Menu, where we expertly pair a different Minnesota State Fair food item with a song from the album. See below for the third and fourth courses, courtesy of “Ayeyayaya” and “Shadap You Face Pt II.” Huge shouts to our main man Zeke Salo for making these videos. They’re my favorite.

And if you’re looking for a few activities that help promote mental health and wellness this month, I have got you covered. Our friends at Shout Out Loud our throwing a wellness concert for suicide prevention and awareness this Saturday, October 5th at the Rec Center ROC in St Louis Park. Admission is free and there’s a great lineup. Fun for the whole family. Check out all the details HERE.
On October 10th I’ll be in Rochester for a candid discussion on mental health, creativity, the music industry, and a life in the arts. I love events like this because they help us all realize that we’re not alone. If you’re in the area I’d love to meet you and hang out. Check out all the details HERE.
BAM! That does it for Doomtree-related news this week, which means it’s time once again for another round of Bonus Jams. First up is the new SMASH HIT from Zedd and Kehlani. Oh man this one is good. Could this be the first 6/8 waltz to crash the Billboard charts?
Zedd & Kehlani – “Good Thing”
I can’t get enough of this Lauv guy. He’s been dropping single after single all year long and every one of these tracks is a hit. Check out his latest “Feelings” below. I feel like he’s definitely filling a void in my life while I patiently wait for a new Justin Bieber album. Highly recommended.

DaBaby has taken over the world and his new album KIRK absolutely lives up to the hype. Here’s “Intro,” the standout track from the record. Is it just me or is he channeling an old T.I. flow on this one? Love it.
DaBaby – “Intro”
Producer Lane 8 and POLIÇA vocalist Channy Leaneagh have joined forces once again for an absolutely beautiful track. Check out “Brightest Lights” below. It’s one of three songs that the two collaborated on for this upcoming Lane 8 album. So good.

Velvet Negroni just dropped a great new video from his excellent Neon Brown album, directed by our friend KRON. Check out “ONE ONE” below.

Big time shouts to K.Raydio, who has been surprise dropping a ton of introspective EPs all year long. Aside from songwriting and vocal duties, K.Raydio recently took up production and has been self-producing all of her own tracks as well. Triple threat, for real. Check out the entire new 5:55 EP below and support great local art by downloading from her Bandcamp HERE.

Equally huge shouts to our friend Kara Laudon on the release of her excellent solo full-length Old Lives. You might remember Kara as Dessa’s keyboardist and backing vocalist on the Chime tours last year. Kara has been hard at work on this project with producer John Mark Nelson for the past few years and I gotta say it turned out fantastic. You can check out the whole thing below and then go download a copy from her Bandcamp right HERE.

The homie Tufawon is BACK with this banging new single “Could It Be?”. Check it out below and stay tuned for lots more music coming from him shortly.

And lastly, shouts to DJ and producer Hydrah who just released her brand new single. I’ve been working with Hydrah at Slam Academy over the past year teaching the Music Industry Class together, and she is simply the best. Listen to “Paradigm Shift” below and keep your eyes and ears out for new music from her coming soon.
