OK! Welcome back to the first Tuesdays With Lazerbeak since the Last Doomtree Blowout Ever. Still don’t quite have the words to describe what the last week and a half has meant to all of us, but luckily you can relive the entire eight-day run with awesome photos and video from our all-star cast of FRIENDTOGRAPHERS Zoe Prinds-Flash, Ben LaFond, Hannah Hofmann, and Ricardo Zapata. Just click all the links on the right side banner of the site marked “MORE HEADLINES” for the play-by-play on every single day. And check out Ricardo’s video from the grand finale at First Ave below to kick things off.
A few other videos dropped last week in all of the Blowout mayhem. Our good friends at The Current just posted the entire live stream interview and performance we did at the UBS Forum on Friday. Check it all out below, there’s some serious gems in there, plus a brand new song.
We officially debuted our new Surly Doomtree collabo beer in draft form last week at all the venues that hosted a Blowout event. Check out this teaser promo video about how the whole collaboration process came together, if nothing else but for to watch Dessa spill an entire bag of malt everywhere.
Due to the big success of the first week, Surly has announced that they’ll be packaging Surly Doomtree beer in 16 oz cans starting early next year! SO EXCITED FOR THIS. Check out the collabo can artwork from Doomtree’s Cecil Otter and Surly’s Michael Berglund below.
Now that the Blowout is over, we can put all our focus towards this new crew album dropping in January. Don’t forget that the All Hands Pre-Order is in full effect right now. Check out all the crazy bonus gifts you get with the deluxe version below, and grab a copy for yourself right HERE. Just a quick reminder that if you’re ordering additional webstore items with your pre-order, you should place those orders separately to ensure faster shipping.
Cecil Otter, Dessa, Mike Mictlan, Paper Tiger, P.O.S, and Sims will all be hitting the road super hard this coming February and March on the All Hands Tour! Check out all the announced dates so far below and click HERE for tickets and more sweet deetz.
Speaking of cool tours (SEGUE STREAK 5EVER!!!), Dessa is heading back to Europe this spring for a big two-week run. Her lead-off show in London sold out in less than 24 hours (AWESOME), so we’ve added a second show on April 22nd. You can grab tickets to that one HERE, and check out all the tour details right HERE.
In upcoming show news, P.O.S and Sims are both headed to Denver in the next couple days to play the So-Gnar Shredded Beats Fest. Stef will be at The Bluebird on Thursday with Sean Anonymous (tix HERE), and Sims will be at The Bluebird on Friday with Air Dubai (tix HERE). Both shows should be totally awesome, and a great warmup for the Doomtree crew show taking place at the Gothic Theatre on March 6th (tix HERE).
Speaking of Stef, he recently sat down with our friend Open Mike Eagle to tape an episode of Mike’s Secret Skin podcast. The dudes talk at length about Doomtree, parenting, health, and much more. Check out the whole thing right HERE.
Alright, that about does it for Doomtree-related news this week. Make sure you check back tomorrow though for some more big time news. This is about all I can say for now….
Transition into Bonus Jam Land: D’Angelo came out of hiding finally and dropped a brand new album out of nowhere a few days back! Like everyone else, Voodoo pretty much changed the whole game for me, and I’ve been anxiously awaiting a follow-up ever since. That anticipation was brought to a fever pitch with last year’s insane one-off show with Questlove at First Ave. So happy that this project is now finally seeing the light of day. I’ve only had a chance to hear the first three songs so far, but I can already tell you it will be duking it out with Majid Jordan and Ariana Grande for my album of the year. Click the cover to grab the whole thing on iTunes, and stream first single “Sugah Daddy” below.

I’ll leave you with a plethora of Baby Bonus Pics, since I haven’t included them in the last few posts. Laid Back Lou and Crawl Man Cam are officially nine months old and better than ever. Here they are posing as a new dynamic duo I like to call The BATH Brothers (see what I did there, Canseco?). We’re still working on a cool interlocking arm handshake thing that will make McGwire proud.
Here’s a solo dolo shot of Cam. He somehow already has like eight chompers already. Crazy kid.
Aaaaaaaand one of Lou. I promise I had nothing to do with that faux-hawk thing on the top of his head. Placing all the blame on daycare for that one.
Can’t forget about P! She just got back from her second airplane ride ever, visiting her great grandma down in Florida. Here she is at the Orlando airport getting seriously amped to hang with princesses.
And here she is at DISNEY WORLD watching the fireworks off of the magic castle that they show at the start of all Disney movies. LIFE CHANGING EVENT. Missed her tons, so glad to have her home.
We got into the Christmas spirit the other night and started decorating this very affordable tree (shouts to Home Depot for the $15 joints!). This all happened while Luther’s “Mistletoe Jam” blared throughout the house. Best Christmas song EVER.
Alright, that about does it for me. I hope you all have a wonderful week easing into the holidays. Make sure you check back tomorrow for more big time news, and then I’ll see you back here next Tuesday for sure!
