Welcome back to a brand new edition of Tuesdays With Lazerbeak! I’m extremely excited to announce the release of the second single from Cloquet’s upcoming album New Drugs, which will be unleashed on the world July 10th via Doomtree Records. Check out “Way Back” below or anywhere you stream or purchase digital music right HERE. It’s an absolute heat rock. Shouts to Paper Tiger on the production and J.Gundersen on the vocals. ENJOY and help us spread the word!
CLOQUET (Paper Tiger + J.Gundersen) – “Way Back”
And if you missed first single “Breathing” earlier this month, make sure to jam that below as well. This album is outrageously awesome, like, somehow better-than-the-first-Cloquet-album awesome. Can’t wait for you to hear it.

There’s still a few weeks left to get your CLOQUET Deluxe LP Pre-Order in from the Doomtree Webstore, which comes with this absolutely radical neon green shirt. Grab yours right HERE. It’s the very first time a CLOQUET album has ever made its way to vinyl and their are only 250 of these bad boys available. Dooooooooit!
Speaking of the Doomtree Webstore (ULTIMATE SEGUE), we’ve recently re-upped on a bunch of No Kings merch for the summertime. The big flags are back in stock at long last, along with the classic t-shirt, tanktop, zip hoodie, and sweatshirt. Plus we have more of the No Kings masks as well to carry you through the global pandemic in style. Check them all out at the Webstore right HERE.
And speaking of said global pandemic, we’re not letting the absence of physical shows completely kill our vibe. Happy to announce that this Saturday my group Mixed Blood Majority will be performing virtually for the Minnesota Music Coalition’s 2020 Summit. It’s a very rare performance from Crescent Moon, Joe Horton, and myself, and you can check out all the details right HERE. Huge shouts to our friends at Slam Hammer for helping us pull off a really high quality live stream. Full schedule for the entire two-day event below. I’ll also be joining a panel at 3:30pm on Saturday to review some awesome new local music.
I have to give a big shout to the Common Sound Music Festival as well, which Doomtree headlined in person last summer out in St. Louis Park. This year they’re moving things online for a five-day virtual concert experience featuring music videos and music performances from a ton of bands. All ticket sale proceeds will be Minnesota Central Kitchen and Second Harvest Heartland. Check out all the details below and learn more right HERE.
And Dessa will be continuing her weekly Show Of Force Majeure livestream over on her Instagram page this week. Join her every Thursday at 7:45 central right HERE for readings, writings, and formal attire from the waist up.
I’d also like to highlight a cool ongoing discussion and live performance series called Response To Violence. Shouts to my friends Bionik and J-Sun for organizing this series that asks for white artists practicing Black art forms to speak on their role and responsibility within the culture. Learn all about it right HERE. Some really difficult, important, and extremely necessary conversations. Highly recommended.
Alright I gotta take off, but before I go let me just hit you with one last little tease for the road. Dope Walker (the new rock band comprised of myself and Jeff from The Plastic Constellations, William Elliott Whitmore, Joel from Ten Grand, and Mike from Brian Jones) has got some serious announcements coming your way later this week. Check out a snippet of an upcoming track below and stay tuned!!!!!
