Oh man, it’s that time of year again. So happy to finally be able to announce all the details of our NINTH ANNUAL DOOMTREE BLOWOUT!!! Click the crazy flyer below for all the show details:
That’s right, THREE shows at First Avenue’s Mainroom. December 13th-15th. Tickets will officially go on sale to the public this Friday at 12:00pm CST (RIGHT HERE), but if you’re signed up for the Doomtree mailing list there’s already a special pre-sale link in your inbox giving you first dibs to all three nights. If you haven’t signed up for the mailing list yet, you’re probably gonna want to do that (HERE) for future early bird specials.
If you’re more into purchasing tickets directly from a human being rather than clicking a button on your computer, you’re in luck. Come on down to The Depot this Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm and buy Blowout tickets directly from Doomtree! The majority of the crew will be hanging out, crushing brews, cheering on the Vikes, and selling tickets hand to hand. How’s that for multi-tasking? Oh, and if you’re under 18, don’t fret. We haven’t forgotten about you, I promise. More details coming next week on all of that. Stick with us.
In other upcoming show news, there are a bunch of Doomtree-related solo shows coming up this weekend, including two separate shows in St. Cloud. On Friday night (11/1) Dessa and the band will be hitting up the Red Carpet in St. Cloud for one last MN show before the the next leg of the Parts of Speech Tour. Grab tickets to that show HERE, and make sure to check out all the tour dates on the flyer below.
Then on Saturday (11/2), Sims is hitting up the Paramount Theatre for the Caravan du Nord event (with Mayda and Paul Spring). Click the flyer below for more details and ticket info. Should be a great show.
If you live in Colorado, our very own Mike Mictlan is flying in this weekend for a couple of shows with Ecid. They’ll be hitting up Greeley on Saturday and Denver on Sunday. Make sure to check these out if you’re in the area. Click the flyer below for more details and ticket info.
Back to Dessa real quick, we just added a few new merch items of hers to the Doomtree Webstore. A Pound of Steam, Dessa’s new poetry chapbook, is now available for sale directly from us. Click the image below for all the details and order info.
We also put up this crazy Skeleton Key pendant on the webstore as well. This one is designed and hand stamped by Minneapolis artist Molly Spilane, and it’s moving out the door pretty fast. Click the image below to grab yours. UPDATE: These are temporarily sold out. We should be receiving another batch of 50 from Molly very soon though. Keep your eyes out for more.
Alright, that should completely cover the “for sale” portion of this week’s post. Now let’s get into some totally FREE Doomtree-related Bonus Jam Remixes! The first one comes from International Touring DJ Paper Tiger. He just remixed Polica’s new “Chain My Name” single last week, on the heels of their great new album Shulamith. It is seriously the best. Check out Paper Tiger’s Polica remix below, as well as the original version of the track underneath that.

The next Bonus Jam Remix is from yours truly. I recently got the chance to remix “Faded Glory” by Ginkgo (Josh from Tapes ‘n Tapes new project), and you can check it out below, along with a sweet video for the original track underneath that. Grab their excellent new album Manopause right HERE. Listen to Lazerbeak’s Ginkgo remix below:

I’ll leave you with one Bonus Penny Pic before calling it a day. I’ve been down in beautiful New Orleans for the last four days with the wifepiece, and we’re missing this crazy little monster pretty bad by now. Here’s a somewhat adorable pic I took of P right before we left for the airport. Hoping she hasn’t completely disowned us for her grandparents in our absence.
OK, that does it for real. I hope you all have a truly wonderful week. SO EXCITED FOR THE BLOWOUT!!! See you next Tuesday with even more details.
